Mission Trip Work Party Tomorrow!
Tomorrow (Wednesday, August 10), we will have the second weekly Work Party in preparation for fundraising for next year’s Mission trip to the Dominican Republic! We’ll be doing exciting work such as finishing-up the huge poster board for mission trip information, and working on flyers and presentations! We may even do some flamingoing!
Oh, and there’ll be tons of pizza!
See you there!

Welcome to the (new and improved) Blog!
Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, to the even-more-all-new Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church Youth Blog!
Okay, I realize that this all sounds the same as before, but it’s not. You see, after only a few months of using our earlier hosting service, Automattic’s WordPress.com, we realized that it wasn’t going to work well at all. Automattic was way too restrictive in creative ability of the site, and strictly limited the amount of awesome we could dump into the site. This new Youth Blog 2.0, however, is self-hosted, meaning that we now have code-level control of the entire domain, and can 100% customize it!
Due to the annoying restrictions of our earlier website infrastructure, most of the team members became discouraged, and stopped using it all together; after all, the last post was in June! I am confident, however, that with this great new real website, we will be updating it much more often, and sharing the experiences that we meet through our great activities!
Aside from the obvious design enhancements and flexibility of the site, we’ve added some cool perks that weren’t available before. You can now even give to the youth group online by using the PayPal Donate link in the sidebar, if you feel so inclined!
➚
Also, I’d like to throw a special shout-out to our new domain and web host, DreamHost, who gives absolutely free web hosting to Non-Profit Organizations like ORLC and the Youth Group! You guys rock!
I look forward to the future!
-Sam

Spring BBQ! Welcoming the 8th Graders.
The high school youth group planned an end-of-the-school-year BBQ to celebrate the coming of summer and welcome the 8th graders (soon to be high schoolers) into the group. Check out some pictures of the event!
